Each rung is written the same way: the concept, the signs you are there, the decision you face, the tools that live there, and the trigger that means you have outgrown it.
If you run a business
You don't need to become an architect. You need to think like one for the twenty minutes a year when it matters: the second location, the online store, the day the spreadsheet stops reconciling. Beacon tells you which rung you are on, in your language, and what revenue, orders, or headcount actually forces the next move. Nothing sooner.
If you are learning to build
Tutorials teach tools. Nobody teaches the judgment: why a monolith is right at one rung and wrong two rungs later, when streaming pays off, why a warehouse nobody queries is not a warehouse. Every review walks the checklist with you and shows how the answer was reached, so you can reach it yourself next time.

The engine asks what an architect would ask, in the order an architect would ask it. After each answer, it shows you how it read that answer and what it rules out.

A teacher, not a certifier. Beacon never signs off, audits, or certifies. It explains.
Talk to an architect
Some questions are too large for a report. The second warehouse, the migration you cannot undo, the contract that decides the next three years. For those, write a brief. A person reads it and puts you in front of a verified architect in the right niche, for a scheduled session.
Verified means checked: a certification confirmed with the issuer, a government ID, an exam we set, and an interview. Each profile states exactly which of those were done, and nothing else.
Sessions are 30, 60 or 90 minutes, billed at the architect's hourly rate. The platform standard is $3,600 per hour. Some architects set a different rate, always shown before you ask. You pay nothing until an architect has accepted your request.
This is for owners and leads with a serious business decision in front of them. It is not for choosing a laptop, fixing a bug, or finding someone to build the thing.

Quietly launched
Beacon opened in September 2026 without an announcement. Rungs one and two are complete; three through eight are outlined and being written in order. Members read each rung as it lands and shape what comes next. Membership opens by invitation while that happens.
